About Ms Gracie

  Ms. Gracie was born in 1943 in Harvey, Illinois just south of Chicago.  Later her parents moved to   southern Illinois where she spent her childhood.  Ms. Gracie married in 1961 and had five children.  Along the way, she adopted three more!  She moved to Tennessee in 1983.

 Ms. Gracie has been quilting since 1980.  In 2002 her Quilt Shop was built and her website went on line.

 Ms. Gracie enjoys making all kinds and types of quilts!  She will make custom quilts.  She will repair quilts.  She will even piece them together and finish a quilt for you.

 Ms. Gracie uses only the highest quality of fabrics, batting and threads.  She is very picky!

The Bi-Kouen Orphanage Home

The Bi-Kouen Orphanage is home to more

than 65 children aged 6 months to 17 yrs old.  Unlike U.S Orphanage,

Japanese government provides very little support.  Most of the funding and

logistics comes from donations.  U.S. Naval Air Facility Misawa Japan has

adopted Bi-Kouen Orphanage 20 yrs ago and has supported the majority of the

logistic (maintenance, appliances, etc..).  During major holidays like

Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the entire command attends

each of the functions and brings gifts, food, friendship and much needed love.

Ms Gracie's Quilting by the Creek donated about 50 quilts to Bi-Kouen Orphanage Home.

Each child received their own quilt to keep.

From what we understand, this type of award is seldom given out by the Japanese People!
